Vehicles in municipal fleets spend significant time in idle while working inside and outside of vehicles. The need for auxiliary power and safety lighting is a primary reason to keep engines running. With the addition of an auxiliary battery some of the benefits municipalities will see include:
- Comfort and Safety of the Operator
- Reduced Idle
- Reduced Fuel Consumption
- Extended Vehicle Life
- Reduced Scheduled Maintenance
- Improved Public Perception
The GRIP will monitor the voltage of batteries as well as interior climate allowing the engine to shut down and only start when needed to maintain these functions. All lighting, computers, communication equipment and interior climate will be fully functional when monitored by the GRIP.
